Team Leaders

Our Local Organisers, we call them Team Leaders, organise the delivery of a book in a local area of about 30,000 customers.

Team Leaders are responsible for the recruitment of the delivery contractors. They are assisted in this by being sent details of deliverers on our database and through the placement of adverts online and in local newspapers.

Team Leaders must ensure that all books are delivered in the correct manner and on time, and are responsible for managing their deliverers so that we achieve this aim.

Many of our Team Leaders work part-time or have family responsibilities, but wish to earn some extra money. If you are interested in becoming a Team Leader, please complete our application form.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply to be a Team Leader?

Click here to fill out our application form. Your details will be added to our database.

Why did no-one contact me after I had filled out the application form?

We often require Team Leaders for only some local areas within the whole distribution area, or we may have had many applicants. Your details will remain on our database if we do require local organisers in future.

How do I know what distributions you are doing?

Click Jobs > Delivery Dates to see a list of distributions and approximate start dates during the next few months.

What training will I receive?

All new Team Leaders attend a 2 to 3 hour training session. Every aspect of the job will be covered by the trainer, and you will receive a detailed instruction booklet and all the paperwork required. Normally you will also meet some people who have already worked for us as Team Leaders.

What support and help will I have?

All Team Leaders have a local 'Area Supervisor' who offers guidance and support. This person will almost certainly have worked as a Team Leader before, probably many times, and should be able to help you with any questions you may have. In addition each distribution has a 'Field Manager' and administrative support based at our office in Wokingham whom you are welcome to phone with any queries.

Do I need transport?

Your own car is not absolutely essential (though it is preferable) providing you have a friend or relative that can give you a lift when required. For example, leaving the training session and attending the distribution centre there will be a lot of paperwork to carry. You may also occasionally be required to re-deliver a book to a customer if we have had an enquiry.

I have a job, so can I also be a Team Leader?

It depends. If you have a full-time day job then probably no as you would be required to come to our training morning, and spend at least half a day at the local distribution centre. If you have a part-time job, or work shifts, you may be able to be a Team Leader. In this case fill out an application form and discuss your circumstances with us if we contact you.

When and how will I be paid?

Payment is by cheque and will be posted to you 3 to 5 weeks after completion of the distribution.
