Deya staff volunteer for an annual activity day to provide support for local community projects. We are often joined by volunteer staff from our clients such as Yell who are based nearby. Deya normally purchase the materials required for the day.
Activity days in recent years have included:
- Painting all seven rooms of a bungalow at Emmbrook Junior School to transform it into a children's play den for after-school and holiday clubs.
- Painting a (very!) long fence in a variety of colours at Westende Junior School.
- Coppicing a local nature reserve at Dinton Pastures
- Weeding, re-styling and re-planting four garden areas at Wokingham hospital (up there with Alan Titchmarsh and Charlie Dimmock).
- Painting and decorating the dining room and lounge area of the WADE daycare centre, which is dedicated to caring for the elderly, including those with dementia, and their carers.
- Clearing gutters, tidying borders and beds at Sale Garden Cottages retirement complex in Wokingham
