The Company

Deya, formerly known as Paul Spain Group Ltd, pioneered the out-sourced delivery of directories for BT Phone Books and Yellow Pages. In 1983 Deya became the first private company to be awarded a contract to distribute telephone directories in the UK.

Through a rapid expansion of its services during the 80's and 90's, Deya has worked for a wide range of customers across the retailing sector including Marks & Spencer, IKEA, Readers Digest and the major Cable companies.

Since then Deya has delivered over 500 million directories, catalogues and product samples using over 24,000 local organisers and more than 300,000 individual delivery contractors.

Originally based in a converted warehouse in Leeds, the company moved to central London in 1984. In 1989 the company moved to its current premises, a converted clockhouse in Wokingham.

People

Delivering millions of products to customers' doors every month is a people business and Deya prides itself on the quality of its permanent staff based at Wokingham, and our field-workers throughout the country.

Over twenty staff are employed at our Wokingham office. Our Field Managers, who directly manage our field-workers, are all of graduate calibre. Other staff are carefully recruited and trained and work in departments such as Customer Services, Administration Support, Accounts and IT. Deya aims to provide a good working environment for staff and is proud of its staff retention.

Our field-workers are carefully recruited and trained, and we aim to treat them fairly and honestly. Many of them work for us over and over again, and a significant number of both organisers and deliverers have worked for us for more than ten or fifteen years.
